Once upon a time, in the early 20th century, at the borders of the Lot-et-Garonne, a small land producing a top quality wine: "Thézac-Perricard wine". This wine's bouquet, as dainty as spicy, used to appeal to the most famed connoisseurs such as Napoleon the 3rd and the President Fallières. The latter, a fervent defender of local gastronomy, did not hesitate to offer some of this wine to his guests, amongst others the Czar Nicolas the 2nd of Russia. Delighted, he placed an important order straight away. At that time, this order was talked about in every house in the area, to such an extent that the Thézac-Perricard wine became over time the wine chosen by the Czar, the wine the Czar wanted... hence the name... "Vin du Tsar" (the Czar's Wine).
