Sauveterre is a region full of prehistoric housing, explored by Laurent Coulonges, archelogist, in the 1920s. He discovered in the Martinet archeological site a new prehistoric culture, famous worldwide, which he called the "Sauveterrien" (-8000 to -7000 BC). Sauveterre-la-Lémance's museum shows the results of his excavations and recounts the hunter-picker men during Prehistory. You can find especially the evolution of hunting techniques, the appearance of bows and arrows. The museum introduces children and adults to ours ancestors' life...
