High village and Rois Ducs' castle

Practical informations

Private and listed as a Historical Monument, this castle was build at the end of the 13th century to watch over the Plantagenêt's land. The main surrounding wall fits closely with the plateau's irregular shape. The rampart walk connects 3 towers. Its former owners, the King of England's vassals, opposed their neighbours, the lords of Beynac, loyal to the King of France, for a long time.

This castle is private, you cannot visit it.
