A beautiful bastide (fortified town) at the borders of the Lot-et-Garonne and the Tarn-et-Garonne, and 20 km from the castle of Bonaguil. You can access to it thanks to a small road winding along the hillside. As you go through the door, you will discover the organized streets, the village square, the belfry and its lunar clock, then the stairs allowing you to leave the town, the water/bell tower, Agen's bishops' former house, the public garden. There, a reading landscape board guides you through the green Boudouyssou Valley's landscape. On the other side, you can see the Verdus forest where the trees shadow alternate with the dry and hot calcareous plateaus.
New! Are you intrigued by the unusual shape of Tournon d'Agenais's bell/water tower? Satisfy your curiosity thanks to the Tourist Office's guided tours! The former presbytery's garden is also hidden in the bastide. The path around the town goes at the foot of the rampart houses and allows you to discover the Causse and Agenais's panoramas. One of the stop-overs of this new tour will be to go up the belfry to discover the lunar clock's mecanism! Did you say bastide?
