The Fumel hydroelectric power station, after some 80 years of service, is still active; and with a bright future ahead, thanks to its ability to provide us with the renewable energy we so desperately need.
A run-of-river type, it was built by Pont-à-Mousson, then owner of the Fumel metallurgical plant, which had an increased need for energy for the reconstruction of France… This was just after the war…
You will enter the power station for a panoramic view of the two Kaplan turbines, true collector's items! The tour does not go down to the lower levels.
